Marcello Di Soto – Guitarist with a Rock & Roll Heart
Born in 1970 in Patagonia, Argentina, Marcello Di Soto grew up surrounded by music. From folk and tango to Elvis and The Beatles, his childhood home was always filled with melodies. At just 10 years old, he picked up his sister’s guitar and taught himself to play, inspired by Carlos Santana’s “Samba Pa Ti.”
The 1980s shaped his musical identity, drawing him to legends like Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. But it was watching La Bamba—the story of Ritchie Valens—that sealed his fate as a musician. From high school rock bands to local performances, music became his passion.
A decade ago, Marcello moved to Utah, working in the fitness industry while continuing to perform. Over time, music became his full-time career, leading him to play at weddings, art galleries, corporate events, and intimate venues like Cupla Coffee. For Marcello, music is more than a profession—it’s family, faith, and pure emotion.
When he’s not playing guitar, he restores and sells classic cars, drawn to the same timeless soul he finds in music. As Eric Clapton once wrote:
“I get off on ’57 Chevys, I get off on screaming guitar…
I’ve got a rock and roll, I’ve got a rock and roll heart.”
Marcello Di Soto does too.
